Steven Bowers is a self-taught photographer with no formal photography training.  He was introduced to photography at age 7, spending frequent evenings alongside his father (photographer David Bowers), dodging, burning, and developing images projected by a Beseler enlarger in their home basement darkroom.

​

Born and raised in New Jersey, Steven has lived at various times in Ithaca, New York, Pasadena, California, Washington, DC, Portland, Oregon, and Vienna, Austria.  He studied mechanical engineering at Cornell University, aeronautics at the California Institute of Technology, and law at George Washington University.  Steven resides currently in Seattle, Washington.
